‘Our Lives Are Shattered’: 3 La. Siblings Among 4 Killed in Wrong-Way Crash

The siblings were on their way home from a high school basketball game when their vehicle was slammed head-on by a wrong-way motorist on Interstate 49 on Friday night. Several siblings from a Louisiana family who were returning home from a high school basketball tournament were killed when their vehicle was slammed head-on by a wrong-way motorist on an interstate highway, according to authorities. “Our lives have been devastated,” their sister said on a GoFundMe page set up to raise money for the family’s financial plight.

Friday, according to a news release from the Louisiana State Police.

She was accompanied by her sister Kamryn Simmons, 14, and brother Christopher, 16, all of Jeanerette, who were also in the vehicle.

  • This particular group had travelled all the way from Monroe to see Christopher play basketball for his undefeated Acadia College team, according to her statement.

  • Lundy and Lindy Simmons, the latter of whom was not wearing a seatbelt, were pronounced dead at the site of the accident.
  • The results of what the police characterized as “routine toxicological testing” on both drivers were awaited by the officers.
  • “My father contacted me when I was at a Christmas party and informed me that my mother had been involved in an accident.

My mother had been harmed, so I took a flight to the hospital, sobbing the whole way, assuming she was hurt but not expecting anything worse.” She arrived at the scene to find her father and another brother having discovered that there were two fatalities, but they didn’t know which ones they were.

  • Despite the fact that the second vehicle involved had just one person, her mind was still persuaded that someone was twisting information and that it could not possibly be genuine.
  • “However, they were stable, and this provided us with some comfort so that we could focus on discovering my siblings.” Then they were informed that the “young blonde” who had been driving the Simmons automobile had not survived the accident.
  • “And just like that, we went from having one sibling who didn’t make it to having all three of them not make it,” DeRouen explained.
  • My father has lost his three youngest children and is currently in the intensive care unit with my mother.
  • The most difficult aspect of this entire ordeal, apart from the fact that I have lost my siblings, is knowing that my mother will be notified of this as soon as she awakens “” she explained.
  • “Our world has been broken.
  • All of their decisions and actions were made with the good of their children in mind.
  • I’m not sure how we’ll ever be able to go on or recover from this.” According to the Louisiana State Police, the following statement was issued: “The lives of multiple families have been irreversibly altered in a single night as a result of events that might have been avoided.

It was 3:20 p.m. when the initial 911 call reporting the collision came in, according to Pinkston. Mayor sorry for kids’ ‘assassinate Obama’ chant

‘Assassinate Obama!’ screamed by second- and third-grade kids on an east Idaho school bus after the Nov. 4 election has prompted a public apology from the town’s mayor, who says there is no reason for such behavior. Rexburg In a guest editorial published in local media on Tuesday, Mayor Shawn Larsen expressed his sadness at the national and international attention that his city has gotten as a result of the tragedy. In an interview with The Associated Press, Larsen stated that a formal reaction to the occurrence in his city was urgently required.

That is not the case “he explained.

Larsen stated that he felt motivated after attending the event.

In Madison County, where Rexburg is situated, McCain received an overwhelming majority of votes over the Democratic nominee, prompting some to call it “the reddest county” in the country.

As Larsen stated in his letter, “I am deeply sorry about this situation, and I do not feel it embodies the values that make our town such a wonderful place to live and raise a family.” It is important for parents to comprehend the fact that things uttered in anger, or even in jest, can have long-lasting consequences, not only injuring young hearts and minds, but also harming the reputation of a city.” Since the incident, Madison County school administrators have reminded teachers to inform students that words such as “kill” and “assassinate” — particularly when used in connection with the president of the United States — are taken seriously by law enforcement and can result in severe consequences if used in connection with the president.

Superintendent Geoffrey Thomas, on the other hand, blamed the media for disseminating information about the chanting.

Some people in Idaho, on the other hand, are concerned that occurrences like this would further tarnish the state’s reputation as a place that is already connected with white supremacist groups.

‘Free public hanging’ is a phrase that means “free public hanging.” Immediately following Obama’s election, a man in northern Idaho put up a sign offering a “free public hanging” of the president-elect and numerous other prominent personalities, leading the United States Secret Service to launch an investigation.

The fact that school administrators said the pupils were too young and that the majority of them did not grasp what the term “assassinate” meant really upset her.

“They were simply kids, but they had heard it somewhere,” said Goddard, whose department is in charge of enforcing state and federal anti-discrimination rules in the Treasure State. “I think it’s fantastic that the mayor has taken the initiative and spoken out against it.”

Heart and Souls (1993)

  • When a dissatisfied businessman is assigned the task of assisting a quartet of ghosts in fulfilling their final wishes before passing on to the afterlife, he finds new meaning in his life
  • In 1959, in San Francisco, telephone operator Penny Washington leaves her three children to work on her night shift. Harrison Winslow, a bashful singer who is terrified of the stage, decides to withdraw from his audition. A proposal is made to waitress Julia by her lover, which she declines
  • She later regrets her decision and quits her job to go in search of him. Minor outlaw Milo Peck attempts to recover an assortment of stamps that he had previously taken from a little kid in the course of his crimes. They board a bus, and the driver, Hal, becomes distracted while driving, causing a terrible accident in which the driver and passengers perish. Meanwhile, Frank Reilly is bringing his pregnant wife Eva to the hospital in a separate vehicle. Frank is successful in his attempt to escape from the bus, but Eva is worried and gives birth to her child in the automobile. The souls of the four passengers are transformed into guardian angels and invisible buddies for the little child Thomas Reilly (Thomas Reilly). Almost seven years later, Penny and her friends Julia, Harrison, and Milo come to the conclusion that they are endangering the youngster, and they resolve to become invisible to him, as well. Hal comes with his bus to pick them up, and the quartet discovers that they have had all of those years to overcome the issues that have plagued them throughout their lives. They enlist Hal’s assistance in delaying their execution and allowing them more time to resolve their unfinished lives. They then decide to return to Thomas, who has grown into a tough businessman who is also indecisive in his relationship with girlfriend Anne, and ask him to assist them in resolving their issues and becoming free souls. In the end, Thomas grows up and becomes a better guy. In 1959, four persons, Milo, Harrison, Penny, and Julia, board a bus to a destination unknown. The bus driver became preoccupied and slammed the vehicle into a tree. Every single person on the bus perishes. Milo, Harrison, Penny, and Julia are still on Earth, but they have become spirits, and the driver has ascended. At the same time, the Reillys, a married couple who were on their way to the hospital since the woman was about to give birth, arrived on the scene as well. She gives birth to a son right there on the spot. The four of them get emotionally close to their kid, Thomas, who, for some reason, is able to recognize them. When Thomas is seven years old, and others notice that he is acting strangely as a result of their presence, they decide to vanish. Years later, Thomas has matured into a successful businessman who enjoys the company of his girlfriend, Anne. A bus comes one day, operated by the same driver who was responsible for the accident that resulted in their deaths. He claims he has come to bring them up to date. They’re furious with him because of what he did. However, he claims that they have been given the opportunity to fix their lives, which is why they have become attracted to Thomas since they rely on him to accomplish what they are unable to do. However, they are unaware of this, and the driver believes he can buy them some time so that they can complete their tasks. As a result, they must first make themselves visible to Thomas, which they successfully achieve. But he still feels horrible about the fact that they “forsook” him. Eventually, he accepts to take part in the experiment. He must steal some stamps that Milo stole from a boy in order to pass them off as stolen property. He must also convince Harrison to perform on stage because he has terrible stage fright. He must also discover what happened to Penny’s children, but because it occurred during the 1950s, all records are sealed. He must also apologize to Julia’s boyfriend, whom she has been avoiding for a long time. However, all of these behaviors endanger his relationship with Anne
  • 1959. San Francisco is a city in California. They are the only passengers on a late night city bus, which smashes into another vehicle, killing all four of them instantly. Harrison, Julia, Milo, and Penny were all unconnected and dissimilar persons who were murdered instantly along with Hal, the bus driver, when the bus crashes into another vehicle. When they die, their four souls are not sent to heaven, but instead become irrevocably linked to the soul of Thomas Reilly, who was born into another car that was engaged in the traffic accident at the time of their deaths. Their four souls, their human form, which is only visible to Thomas and Thomas alone, end up serving as Thomas’ guardians, and they may have a greater impact on his life than any other human being can imagine. At the age of seven, their presence in Thomas’ life, which manifests itself to the living world as Thomas’ imaginary friends, begins to cause him socialization difficulties, and they decide it may be best for him if they disappear completely from his sight. They remain with him in spirit, but his physical presence is no longer visible to them. Thomas, who is upset, comes to believe that he has been abandoned by the four “people” who were once his greatest friends. Now fast forward to the current day, thirty-three years after the catastrophe occurred. Their purpose for being with Thomas was to tie up loose ends in their respective human lives before they are sent to heaven and their souls transferred into the bodies of other creatures to be born, their souls being required at this time. This is something they were supposed to have been told years ago, but they have only recently discovered. Thomas was supposed to be of assistance to them in their work. They were also previously unaware that they had the ability to take over Thomas’ body as part of the operation. In Harrison’s free time, he enjoys singing in front of an audience. He had aspirations to be a professional singer, but his stage fright always got the better of him. Julia is confessing her feelings for her boyfriend John, despite the fact that she had been pushing him away due to her own anxieties. Milo’s last work as a thief was to return some stolen goods, which was his last employment before he went to prison for his crimes. As a single mother with no other relatives, Penny’s primary concern was ensuring that her three children were secure and united at the end of their lives, which was not always a guarantee. They must re-enter Thomas’ life and persuade him to assist them, which may prove difficult owing to Thomas’ sense of abandonment by them at a critical juncture in his life’s development. Thomas’s feelings of abandonment have expressed themselves in his inability to form lasting relationships, such as with his longterm girlfriend Anne, since he never wants to feel the way he did when he was seven. If they are successful in convincing Thomas to assist them, they will not know how much time they have left before they are required in heaven, and thus whether their missions will be completed. This is especially true given Thomas’s own human life, which includes not only attempting to maintain his relationship with Anne without making that commitment, but also his banking job, in which he is more often than not tasked with business foreclosures, as well as his own human life. However, it will become clear that their objective may not be as straightforward as it looks on the surface
  • Harrison, Penny, Julia, and Milo all have unfinished business in this life, as will be shown later. Unfortunately, they find themselves all on board a city bus that takes a plunge, resulting in the deaths of the four passengers on board. Meanwhile, Thomas is born, and the souls of the unhappy four get deliciously entangled with Thomas’ conscious awareness as a result of his birth. In 1959, Milo, Penny, Julia, and Harrison board a bus that crashes, and all of them die, but they do not immediately go to heaven. When the four discover that they will be using Thomas to complete their business here on earth, they learn about what was important to each of them, and Thomas learns a lesson as well. At the same time that the bus crashes, a baby is born in the nearby town. The infant, who would be called Thomas, and the four deceased travelers are linked together. Thomas is able to see them for some reason, and he develops fond of them
  • However, when people suspect that Thomas may be suffering from a mental illness, they decide not to allow Thomas to see them, which causes him much distress. The four of them are still with him even though he cannot see them, thirty years after they first appeared in his life. Thomas is all grown up and a touch cynical when it comes to letting people into his life, and the four of them are still with him even though he cannot see them. On one particular day, they all appear to him at the same time and remain by his side until each of them has completed the ultimate job of their respective personal lives.

  • When a dissatisfied businessman is assigned the task of assisting a quartet of ghosts in fulfilling their final wishes before passing on to the afterlife, he finds new meaning in his life
  • In 1959, in San Francisco, telephone operator Penny Washington leaves her three children to work the night shift. Harrison Winslow, a bashful singer who is terrified of the stage, pulls out of his audition due to his fear of public speaking. A proposal is made to waitress Julia by her lover, which she declines
  • She later regrets her decision and quits her job to go in search of him. Minor outlaw Milo Peck attempts to recover an assortment of stamps that he had previously taken from a young kid in the course of his criminal enterprise. It all starts with the bus driver Hal being distracted while driving. This results in a terrible accident in which the driver and passengers are killed. Meanwhile, Frank Reilly is his route to the hospital with his pregnant wife Eva Reilly. However, Eva is anxious and gives birth to her child in the automobile after Frank safely flees from the bus. Four travelers’ spirits are transformed into guardian angels and unseen pals for the young Thomas Reilly, who grows up to be an orphan. Almost seven years later, Penny and her friends Julia, Harrison, and Milo come to the conclusion that they are endangering the youngster, and they resolve to become invisible to him as well. The quartet discovers that they have had all of those years to overcome the troubles in their life when Hal shows up with his bus to pick them all up thirty-one years later. They enlist Hal’s assistance in delaying their execution and allowing them more time to resolve their unfinished lives. They then decide to return to Thomas, who has grown into a tough businessman who is also indecisive in his relationship with girlfriend Anne, and ask him to assist them in resolving their issues and achieving freedom. Milo, Harrison, Penny, and Julia are four persons who board a bus in 1959. At the end of the film Thomas matures as a man. While driving, the bus driver became preoccupied and slammed into the bus body. No one survives their ordeal on the bus. Milo, Harrison, Penny, and Julia stay on Earth, while the driver ascends to the heavens. At the same moment, the Reillys, a married couple who were on their way to the hospital because the woman was about to give birth, passed by us on the street. Immediately after, she gives birth to a son. Thomas, their son, who for some reason is able to see them, becomes especially connected to the four of them. As soon as people notice that Thomas is acting strangely because they are around, they resolve that they will vanish. Years later, Thomas has matured into a successful businessman who enjoys the company of Anne, his long-term girlfriend. An unexpected bus comes, piloted by the same driver who was responsible for the accident that resulted in their deaths years before. He claims he has come to raise them up to the level of the family. For what he did, they’re furious with him. According to him, they were given the opportunity to fix their lives, which is why they were attracted to Thomas since they rely on him to accomplish what they are unable to do themselves. However, they are not aware of this, and the driver believes he can buy them some time so that they can complete their tasks properly. For this reason, they must first become visible to Thomas, which they successfully do. Even though they “forsook” him, he still feels betrayed. He eventually accepts to take part in the experiment. He must steal some stamps that Milo stole from a boy in order to pass them off as stolen property. He must also convince Harrison to perform on stage because he has terrible stage fright. He must also discover what happened to Penny’s children, but because it occurred during the 1950s, all records are sealed. He must also apologize to Julia’s boyfriend, whom she has been ignoring. However, all of these behaviors endanger his relationship with Anne
  • 1959 A visit to California’s capital is in order. They are the only passengers on a late night city bus, which smashes into another vehicle, killing all four of them instantly. Harrison, Julia, Milo, and Penny were all unconnected and dissimilar persons who were murdered instantly along with Hal, the bus driver, when the bus crashed into another vehicle. When they die, their four souls are not sent to heaven, but instead become irrevocably linked to the soul of Thomas Reilly, who was born in another car that was engaged in the traffic accident at the time of their deaths. In the end, Thomas’ four guardians are their four souls, which are manifested in their human form and are only visible to him and Thomas. They are perhaps more influential in his life than any other human. At the age of seven, their presence in Thomas’ life, which manifests itself to the living world as Thomas’ imaginary friends, begins to cause him socialization difficulties, and they decide it may be best for him if they disappear completely from his sight. They remain with him in spirit, but his physical presence is no longer visible to the living world. When Thomas becomes sad, the four “people” who used to be his greatest friends forsake him, and he feels abandoned himself. Forward to the current day, thirty-three years after the disaster occurred. Their purpose for being with Thomas was to tie up loose ends in their respective human lives before they are sent to heaven and their souls transferred into the bodies of other creatures to be born, their souls being required at this time. This is something they were supposed to have been told years earlier, but they have only recently discovered. In order for them to do their jobs, Thomas was supposed to assist them. They were also previously unaware that they had the ability to take over Thomas’ body as part of the transformation. Performing in public is Harrison’s unfinished business
  • He had aspirations of becoming a professional singer, but his stage fright got the better of him time and again. Despite the fact that she had been pushing him away because of her own anxieties, Julia is confessing her feelings for her partner, John. After a long career as a thief, Milo’s last task was to return some stolen materials, which was his last work before going to jail. As a single mother with no other relatives, Penny’s primary concern was ensuring that her three children were safe and together at the end of their lives, which was not always a given. Because he feels abandoned by them at a critical juncture in his life, they must re-enter Thomas’ life and persuade him to assist them, which may not be easy given his sense of abandonment. In order to avoid ever feeling the way he did when he was seven, Thomas has commitment concerns, which he has exhibited in his relationship with his longtime girlfriend Anne, as well as with his family. If they are successful in convincing Thomas to assist them, they will not know how much time they have left before they are required in heaven, and thus whether their missions will be completed. This is especially true given Thomas’s own human life, which includes not only attempting to maintain his relationship with Anne without making that commitment, but also his banking job, in which he is more often than not tasked with business foreclosures, as well as his own personal life. In the end, however, it will be revealed that their goal may not be what it looks on the surface to be. In this life, Harrison, Penny, Julia, and Milo each have unfinished business to attend to. In unfortunate circumstances, they find themselves all aboard a municipal bus that takes a tumble and crashes into a tree, killing all four people on board. Meanwhile, Thomas is born, and the souls of the unhappy four get deliciously entangled with Thomas’ conscious existence. In 1959, Milo, Penny, Julia, and Harrison board a bus that crashes, and all of them die, but they do not immediately go to heaven. When the four discover that they will be using Thomas to complete their business here on earth, they learn about what was important to each of them, and Thomas learns a lesson as well
  • At the same time that the bus crashes, a baby is born in town. The infant, who would be called Thomas, is connected to the four murdered travelers. Thomas is able to see them for some reason, and he develops fond of them
  • But, when people suspect that Thomas may be suffering from a mental illness, they decide not to allow Thomas to see them, which causes him to be devastated. The four of them are still with him even though he cannot see them, thirty years after they first appeared in his life. Thomas is all grown up and a touch cynical when it comes to allowing people into his life, and they are still with him even though he cannot see them. On one particular day, they all appear to him at the same time and remain by his side until each of them has completed the ultimate assignment in their respective personal lives.

North Bay family of boy killed getting off school bus say drivers not getting the message

North Bay is a city in the province of Ontario. School buses have only been back on the roads for a little more than a week, but officials with the ‘Let’s Remember Adam’ campaign are already concerned about the safety of children on the roads. “I’m quite dissatisfied, and to be completely honest, I’m a little bit upset,” Pierre Ranger expressed his disappointment. The fact that we have to continuously reminding people is heartbreaking, especially after everything that we have gone through and continue to go through as a Ranger family.

The vehicle swerved and narrowly missed Adam, but the trailer, regrettably, didn’t make it.

Officials with Stock Transportation, a bus operator that operates more than 100 buses on North Bay’s roadways, told CTV News that there have been more than 20 documented incidents involving automobiles going past buses with their flashing lights on and stop signs out so far this year.

I find it frightening that 23 students have been suspended in five days of school busing – that’s the biggest number I’ve ever seen.

“That figure would be far higher if not for the unreported occurrences, which occur because bus drivers simply cannot obtain all of the necessary information, as well as the many incidents per stop where multiple cars pass through.” “he explained.

These areas include Lakeshore Road, Airport Road, and Highway 11, according to the officials.
