Approximately 700,000 children were affected by this in 2015. and they are the only ones we are aware of. According to some estimates, just one in every ten children who has been abused ever comes forward. 2. It is critical that all victims of abuse understand that they were never at blame for their plight, and they should never be afraid to speak up about it.

However, we are aware that the programs operate as secondary prevention programs for children and young people who come forward and confess that they have been victims of abuse or other exploitation.

Support and assistance for victims of maltreatment must be made available to them, and the circumstances of their abuse must be investigated and prosecuted if at all feasible.

Instead, they bear the responsibility on their own, and in many cases, they never receive assistance.

Victims of abuse may experience any of the following:

  • They are concerned that they will not be believed
  • They are concerned that they are somehow accountable for the abuse and that they will be punished
