‘What time is it? Game time!’ How Randy Brown became the Bulls’ pregame hype man
It’s difficult to comprehend the footage. It took only 40 seconds out of a total of 10 hours of sensational storytelling to get there. It was almost impossible not to do a double take when Michael Jordan was depicted as some sort of souped-up ticket broker, handing out seats to former teammate Randy Brown, in the film “The Last Dance.” “Isn’t that a complete load of bullshit?” Brown shared his thoughts. However, as Brown explained in a recent phone conversation, there was a reason Jordan, among many other things, was the man to see for tickets in the first place.
In the meantime, obtaining tickets is becoming increasingly difficult.” When you go to the ticket window, you’ll find that he literally doesn’t have any tickets left to sell.
We were making an attempt to purchase these tickets.
Everyone was aware of this.
- “It was Michael who did it.” ‘They showed that segment of he and I together, and it was genuine,’ Brown said.
- He’d throw us tickets here and there throughout the day.
- There was not a single instance in which he said no.
- It was a pleasure to witness.” Brown had a 12-year NBA career, which included five seasons with the Chicago Bulls.
The Bulls are bringing fun back to Chicago, one 360 dunk at a time
The date is November 12, 2021. LONZO BALLWINDS & ASSOCIATES, INC. up and unleashes an overhead pass that travels the length of the court. It had only been a few seconds earlier, when Alex Caruso had slid across the floor beneath the hoop to capture another steal, allowing Nikola Vucevic to find the Bulls’ point guard with ease. In a game against the Dallas Mavericks on Wednesday, the baseball-style throw finds its mark when the ball hits Zach LaVine, who takes two dribbles and slams the ball down with authority in front of a sold-out United Center crowd of 20,910, who works itself into a frenzy as the Bulls beat the Mavericks.
“We’ve simply gotten a completely different energy with the squad,” LaVine remarked during the season’s first week of competition.
“This is the most ecstatic I’ve felt since I started playing basketball.” Since the Bulls last gave reasons to be this enthused, it has been years since they have done so.
However, following an ambitious offseason to rebuild the Bulls’ squad in free agency – which included the signing of four-time All-Star DeMarcus Cousins – Caruso’s Mar DeRozan, who ranks first in the league in steals per game, and the ever-skillful Ball, who will combine with All-Stars Vucevic and LaVine, are already enjoying the rewards of their investment.
- @NBCSChicago|@ZachLaVinepic.twitter.com/iO8vjW9KMk The Chicago Bulls (@chicagobulls) have a tweet.
- The Bulls are off to their finest start since 2012, with an 8-3 record.
- For the first time since March 2017, when the Bulls were led by Jimmy Butler, Dwyane Wade, and Rajon Rondo for a brief period of time, the Bulls have gone over.500 at any point during a season for the first time since March 2017.
- In every season from 2011 through 2017, the Bulls ranked first or second in home attendance percentage, before slipping to 24th during the 2019-20 season (the Bulls only admitted fans into the final four home games of the 2020-21 season because of the coronavirus pandemic).
- Aside from missing the postseason since 2017, the Bulls haven’t won a playoff series since 2015 and haven’t even qualified for the playoffs since 1998.
- It’s clear that what I was doing earlier didn’t have a proven track record.
- Even opposition players are taking notice of the fact that the ” Bulls are back.” It is the Bulls’ 14th consecutive game against a club that was either in the playoffs or a play-in tournament, and they have began this rigorous stretch with a 4-3 record.
As a result of the Bulls’ frenzy of summer actions to enhance their squad, they were unable to give LaVine a long-term contract deal before the start of the season.
With one season remaining on his $19.5 million contract, LaVine will be eligible to become an unrestricted free agency this summer, and he would likely be the best player available on the market.
This is the first time in his career that Chicago has surrounded him with the talent that is ready to help him.
LaVine shared his thoughts.
Obviously, I’d like to be present.
But for the time being, I’m incredibly content with where I’m at and I want to contribute to this team’s success.” When the Bulls’ players talk about sharing the court with Ball, a COMMON THEME comes to mind.
According to LaVine, “It’s like he’s had six energy drinks before the game.” For example, “Can you tell me how you got the ball there?” “He’s a hell of a player, in terms of talent and IQ,” DeRozan added.
In order to arrive at this point, they’ve shuffled through a list of uninspiring options that includes Rondo, Jerome Grant, Kris Dunn, Cameron Payne – before his breakout season with the Suns -Tomas Satoransky, and Coby White, who could make his season debut during this West Coast trip after missing the first month of the season due to offseason shoulder surgery.
- 2 overall choice by the Los Angeles Lakers in 2017, he is currently in his third season with the franchise after being drafted by them in 2017.
- The Bulls were in desperate need of a starting point guard, and Ball was looking for a place to call home after spending time with two different organizations.
- “He’s really fantastic.
- “This guy is the real deal,” says the narrator.
People are obviously trying to figure out what you are unable to accomplish, and you are failing to recognize and appreciate all of the wonderful things that you do.” Ball’s scoring (12.6 points per game) and assists (4.5 per game) have both dropped to career lows, but he has been the motor that has propelled the Bulls’ transition attack.
- The NBA’s third-leading assist provider in transition this season is Lonzo Ball, who has 21 assists in transition this season (his brother,LaMelo Ball, is first with 26 for theCharlotte Hornets).
- His confidence in himself, Caruso said, “has allowed him to finally blossom into the player he knows he can be.” “He’s finally blossoming into the player he knows he can be,” Caruso said of his client.
- He’s merely a spark that gets things started.
- The way Lonzo plays, pushing the tempo and being really selfless, he’s a great source of energy.
- It is believed that the additional shooting sessions helped Ball improve his accuracy, since his 3-point shooting % has increased in each of his five seasons.
In LaVine’s words, “it’s been extremely nice to see individuals in here working on their game and having the same desire that you do.” “The most important thing is to have that sense of camaraderie; we’re all at the gym, we’re all doing our jobs.” “It’s something I’m constantly reminded of, and it’s something that goes beyond just winning a game,” DeRozan said after the Raptors’ victory over the Brooklyn Nets on Nov.
- Recognizing that it is in the long term.
- However, the team ended 12-17 and failed to qualify for the play-in round.
- They will be working out at the Advocate Center.
- During the offseason, Caruso and DeRozan had each found time to get together with LaVine and do some weightlifting together.
- Donovan came to Los Angeles to spend time with LaVine after his return from Tokyo.
- Due of the length of time that the Bulls had to spend with one other, he wanted them to spend as much time as possible with each other, playing pickup basketball to learn about each other’s habits on the court and going out for meals to get to know each other off the court.
- You’re bringing in guys now, not only Vooch and DeMar, but others as well.
Rather than anything else, I was simply attempting to accelerate part of the process.” When you bring a group of guys together like that, you can’t just expect them to mesh and gel right away; it takes a little time.” Those preseason sessions have been cited by Bulls players as a contributing factor to the team’s rapid acclimatization.
Despite shooting 488 percent from the field, attempting 2.4 three-pointers per game and making only a few (34.6 percent), DeRozan is still getting to the free throw line frequently (7.5 attempts per game, fourth in the NBA) to contribute to the second-highest effective field goal percentage (50.9 percent) of his career.
- Ball is shooting 44.7 percent from outside the arc, a career high, and he and Caruso have been the team’s defensive leaders, harassing opponents in the backcourt.
- Their efforts have at least softened the impact of losingPatrick Williamsto a possibly season-ending wrist injury, at least for the time being.
- However, these growing pains have been obscured by a squad that is prepared to make sacrifices in order to win.
- Men who average 20-25 points a game, yet who are comfortable passing to an open man if it is the proper move.
- Zach hasn’t had a lot of success in his professional career.
- Although DeMar has had some success, I believe that they are all eager to return to their previous levels of excellence on the court.
- Despite being in his eighth season, which began as a first-round choice of the Minnesota Timberwolves in 2014, LaVine has yet to appear in a playoff game in his professional career.
- But how far will this team be able to go now that the buzz has returned to the city?
“I believe that is the mindset that must be adopted.”

BALLWINDS, LONZO up and unleashes an overhead pass that travels the length of the court A few seconds earlier, Alex Caruso had slid to the ground beneath the rim to collect another steal, which he passed to Nikola Vucevic, who immediately found the Bulls’ point guard. - During the course of the season, Ball has dished out 10 assists to LaVine in transition, following just Devin Booker and Mikal Bridges of the Phoenix Suns (11) in terms of the most frequently used passer-to-scorer pairing.
- The fact that I’m playing basketball right now is the most exciting thing I’ve experienced.” Since the Bulls last gave reasons to be this enthused about a team, it has been several years.
- A successful summer spent overhauling the Bulls’ roster in free agency – including the signing of four-time All-Star DeMarcus Cousins – the team is now in a better position.
- Just look at how easy it is.
- Their ranking in the top ten in both offensive and defensive efficiency during this short season (together with the Golden State Warriors, Utah Jazz, and Miami Heat) has come as a surprise to even the most optimistic of their forecasts.
- Simply put, this has restored the sold-out crowds that had been commonplace following the end of the 1990s dynasty.
As a result of the Bulls’ resurgence and their ability to produce highlight reel alley-oops, they have re-established a presence in the arena, where they rank among the top ten in terms of attendance and the atmosphere is so jubilant that the crowd routinely breaks into “MVP” chants in honor of Caruso.
- Nonetheless, this Bulls squad has re-engaged a city that has been waiting for a winner for far too long.
- “I’m willing to do everything to win.” It’s clear that what I was doing previously didn’t have a track record.
- Even opposition players are taking notice of the fact that the ” Bulls have returned.” With 14 straight games against teams who were in the playoffs or played in a play-in round, the Bulls have began this arduous string of games 4-3.

According to LaVine, “It’s like he’s had six energy drinks before to the game.” “Explain how you got the ball there, for instance.” A guy with “hell of a skill and IQ,” according to DeRozan, was described as follows: I enjoy it because he makes it simple.” “It’s enjoyable because he makes it simple.” In his career, Bulls forward Derrick Jones Jr.

2 overall choice in the 2017 NBA Draft, Ball is already in his third season with the Los Angeles Lakers, having joined the Lakers as a rookie.
Considering that the Bulls were in desperate need of a starting point guard and that Ball was looking for a new home after spending time with two different organizations, it’s understandable that Ball and Chicago have been a wonderful match thus far this season.
In my experience, he has one of the highest IQs of any player I’ve ever had the pleasure of playing with.” I can tell you right now that this person is legit.
Most people are focused on what you are unable to achieve, and you are unappreciative of the many positive contributions you make.” Though his scoring (12.6 points per game) and assists (4.5 per game) are both at career lows, Ball has been the motor that propels Chicago’s transition attack this season.

- The spark is just his presence in the scene.
- The way Lonzo plays, pushing the tempo and being really selfless, he is a great source of energy.
- Those extra shooting sessions have been credited with helping Ball improve his accuracy, as his 3-point shooting % has increased in each of Ball’s five seasons in the league.

- 8: Alternatively, you may lose a match.
And to be a good team, you have to recognize that you have to put in the effort on a consistent basis.” When the NBA’s trade deadline came around in March, the Bulls sought to make a rash of changes to their roster on the fly, signing Nikola Vucevic in a bid to push the club into the postseason.
- The Bulls landed in Chicago on September 6, more than two weeks before the start of training camp.
- Billy Donovan’s teammates were anxious to go to work after being encouraged by him.
- LaVine returned to Los Angeles after competing with Team USA in Tokyo, and Donovan was the first Bulls coach LaVine has had for two straight seasons.
- For Donovan, the Thunder’s first season with the combination of Russell Westbrook, Paul George, and Carmelo Anthony was a highlight of his five-year career in Oklahoma City, which began in 2017.
- In Donovan’s words last week, “these men are all coming from circumstances where they’ve been the hero.” In Orlando, I don’t know what it was like for Vooch to play, and I don’t know what it was like for DeMar to play in San Antonio, but I know how much we relied on Zach last season.
- They need to interact with one another, become acquainted, and engage in these discussions with one another.
- They are the second pair of Bulls teammates to score 20 points in seven consecutive games, a feat that has not been accomplished since Michael Jordan and Scottie Pippen did it in 1993.
With an effective field goal percentage of 50.9 percent, DeRozan is off to one of his most efficient starts of his career, shooting 48.8 percent from the field, attempting a few 3-pointers (2.4 attempts per game) and making a few (34.6 percent), and still getting to the free throw line frequently (7.5 attempts per game, fourth in the NBA) to contribute to the second-highest effective field goal percentage (50.9 percent) of his career.

- Their efforts have at least softened the pain of losingPatrick Williamsto a possibly season-ending wrist injury, at least for the foreseeable future.
- Fortunately, a team that is prepared to make sacrifices in order to win has been able to disguise these mounting discomforts.
- Players that average 20-25 points each game, yet are comfortable passing to an open teammate if it is the appropriate move.
- Over the course of his professional career, Zach hasn’t received many awards.
- Although DeMar has had some success, I believe they are all eager to return to their previous levels of excellence.
- He has never been a part of a winning season in his NBA career, and before the Bulls opened this season 4-0, he had never been a member of a four-game winning run.
- When it comes to facing some of these teams, LaVine noted, “you can’t be terrified because you want to be playing them later on in the season.” Trying to figure out where you are as a group and how much you can improve is a struggle.
Taking on these squads is something I am looking forward to. The attitude you need to have, I believe, is as follows:
|Players||3 or more|
|Setup time||1 minute|
|Playing time||No limit|
|Random chance||Low to medium|
Mr Wolf, what time do you want me to arrive? After that, there is a call-and-response game in which all participants, with the exception of Mr Wolf, shout in unison “What time is it, Mr Wolf?” and Mr Wolf will respond in one of two ways:
- Mr Wolf may refer to the time as a clock (for example, “5 o’clock”). As a result, the other players will walk that number of steps, counting them aloud as they go along (“One, two, three, four, five”). Then they ask the question again
- Mr Wolf may yell “Dinner time!”/”Lunch time!”/”Midnight,” after which he will turn around and chase after the other participants. Any time a player is tagged by Mr Wolf, that player becomes the next Mr Wolf.

Game Day — Sons of Ben
The Sons of Ben code of conduct is comprised of four basic, common sense standards that members are required to adhere to when attending Philadelphia Union games and other SoB activities.
1. Be Loud:
Essentially, the Sons of Ben are the heart and soul of this organization. For 90 minutes of every match, opposing players and supporters should be humiliated by how loud and proud The River End is. We wave our Jolly Franklin flags and hang our tifo to make sure everyone knows who’s house they’re in.
2. Be Proud:
In this squad, the Sons of Ben serve as the motor that keeps everything moving. Opposing players and fans should be embarrassed by how loud and proud The River End is for the whole 90 minutes of every game. Everybody knows who’s house they’re in because we wave our Jolly Franklin flags and hang our tifo to let them know who they’re in.
3. Be Smart:
Have a good time before and during the game, but don’t go overboard with the celebrations. It is better not to drink if you are unable to handle it. If you are unable to convey your frustration with the referee, opposing players, or opposing supporters without resorting to aggressive, sexist, racist, or homophobic statements and gestures, then refrain from opening your lips.
Come attend a game, away trip, or watch party instead because that type of hatred is not tolerated in The River End, at our watch parties, Sons of Ben events, or anywhere else on the internet. If you use it, you will be removed from the game and maybe blacklisted.
4. Be Passionate:
This is OUR team, and it is our responsibility to provide them with assistance. If you are unable to adhere to this simple code of behavior, then this is not the place for you. Capo stands are intended to provide fan leadership with the option to stand at the front of their sections during Union matches in order to lead shouts and songs during the game. The following are the rules to follow:
- It is customary for capo stands to open one hour before kickoff and close immediately following the completion of the game.
- Only credentialed members will be authorized to enter the stands following the conclusion of the game in order to remove any permissible game day goods. All artifacts from the game day must be removed from the premises within 45 minutes after the last whistle.
- Only members who have been credentialed will be permitted to be on the capo stand at any given time. At any given moment, no more than three credentialed individuals will be present on the capo stand
- The following things have been approved for use on the capo stand:
- It is only permissible for capo stands to use smoke devices during the event, and each stand will be provided with five devices prior to the commencement of the match. In order to utilize the smoke devices, they must be deposited into metal buckets filled with sand on the capo stands. Smoke devices may be used during the pre-game entrance, during Union goals, and during a Union victory.
As some of you may be aware, we’ve had a number of occurrences this year with folks in the River End who purchased their tickets on StubHub or other third-party ticket marketplaces and then showed up at the game. Often, these folks purchased the tickets because they were inexpensive and were dissatisfied when they discovered that they were in a standing, singing area. Even worse, some of them want to be in the River End because they believe they will be able to get away with disruptive or even racist conduct if they are in that neighborhood.
- In light of this, we would want to clarify the regulations regarding StubHub and other comparable services.
- On BigSoccer, there is a discussion thread dedicated to this topic, and we want to incorporate a ticket-matching option on our website for the 2012 season, if at all possible.
- If you sell to people who are not SoBs, you will be held liable for any Code of Conduct breaches committed by individuals who sit in your seats.
- Not only is it unfair to the people who purchased the tickets, but it is also unfair to others who are in the same section as them.
Volleyball Chants for Volleyball Teams
People in the River End who purchased tickets on StubHub or other third-party ticket marketplaces have been involved in a number of incidents this season, as some of you may be aware. Sometimes these customers bought the tickets because they were inexpensive and were disappointed when they discovered that the show was a standing-only performance. Even worse, some of them want to be in the River End because they believe they will be able to get away with disruptive or even racist conduct if they are in that location.
In light of this, we would want to clarify the regulations governing StubHub and other such websites.
On BigSoccer, there is a discussion thread dedicated to this topic, and we want to incorporate a ticket-matching option on our website for the 2012 season, if at all possible.
It is possible that you will be held liable for Code of Conduct breaches committed by persons who purchase your tickets if you do not sell to SoBs alone.
No one should be penalized, even those who purchased the tickets and others in the section with whom they shared a seat. The punishment for anybody who violates this rule may include expulsion from the Order of the Sons of Ben (Sons of Ben).
